I was searching for a crate of SKS's today and came across this article from 2010:

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/battle-over-chinese-made-rifle-pits-gun-enthusiasts-against-rcmp/article1320685/

Whatever became of this? I see they are a Bull-pup so are they prohibited?

North Sylva says that they have a redesigned model submitted for review. They will post up once an FRT gets issued. Some retailers have preorders going.. Free at CanAm, $250 at Wanstalls, but no guarantees that it will be approved as non-restricted.

bullpup conversion stock for otherwise configured rifles are prohib, and certain bullpup designs are prohib by name...doesn't mean bullpup designs in general are prohibited or even restricted, tavor tar-21 is non-restricted for example. The hope is that the new type 97 design will be classified non-restricted as well.

Im sure it should pass this time theyve redesighned the reciever aka no holes for full auto parts. From what i read the first shipment brought in was the auto version minus the auto trigger assembly. Also keep your eyes open for the type 81 that tactical imports is trying to bring in mrsp of 1200 i believe. Could become the ak47 canada has always deserved even tho it only looks like one. Just gotta remember the usa pays over 1000 for a chicom pre ban ak
