Typhoon F12 or the Derya MK-12 ... pros and cons ... which one to buy?

I have minimal experience with both but ask Johnny Cannon how he feels about the Typhoon. Hint: He sold it.
From my limited exposure, the Derya is a better performing gun but the Typhoon is much better looking.

I purchased a Derya MK12
Really like it! No jams with 2 box of slugs followed with a box of bird shot! Yes the mags are a little tights but will shurely loosen up with time ! Suprisingly precise with slugs ! A bit heavy but the AR ergo give a tight grip and position!
I admit I was drawn by the tacti cool non restricted part of the thing since I usually use an over under for small game or center fire and black powder for big games . But I think I could use the MK 12 for Turkey hunting or even Deer or Moose with slugs at close ranges ! It is well made and comes with a case and accessories. I dont regret my purchase.

I bought a Typhoon F12 (NOT the maxi) when they were on pre-order.
IT IS A TANK!!!!!
I cleaned it well, lubed it up according to the instructions, and proceeded to shoot the HECK outta it. It reliably eats Challenger birdshot, handicap Challenger, Remington TopGun, S&B low recoil slugs and anything else I have fed it.
It ran better than the Derya Mk12s that were on my squad at the Redneck 3 Gun last year. I THINK this is due to the VERY dusty conditions: the Derya has a cutout for the reversible charge handle and cut outs on the mag. I think this made them vulnerable to fouling by dust. YMMV, but I LOVE my Typhoon!

Yes ... I did buy the Typhoon F12 ... it arrived quickly and I have shot several boxes of shells through it.
My overall impression is that it is a reasonably well built gun and is a ton of fun to shoot. One of the best parts is being non-restricted you can go out to your favorite bush spot and shoot what you want as opposed to the rigor around the rules at a gun club ... ie: shooting watermelons, 2 liters and the like ... and yes, I do always clean up after myself.
As Phat Eagle stated it seems to eat everything, I have not found anything yet it wont fire or cycle, no FTE's or FTF's ... just started shooting it and it works.
I put a red dot on mine and it's amazingly accurate with slugs to 50 yds ... maybe further altho I haven't tested it past 50 yds.
I did have one issue, the bipod broke first outing ... I did contact the retailer who sent a new one without issue ... BIG THANKS to Wild West ... however in my case I have put a proper aftermarket bipod on it now.
So far I am happy with the purchase, functions well, great looking gun and hits HARD with slugs for sure.

The issue wirh the maxie is the handguard is aoxtight it slows the action

I owned both. Typhoon F12 is crap. It's hit or miss if it will work, and you WILL NOT get any help with warranty, no matter how much BS retailers will post here. Look for my posts. The Derya MK12 fires anything, and will even cycle Typhoon F12 mags. The design is better - the Typhoon F12's design is prone to failure. I wouldn't take a free F12. Look for my vids on Youtube.

With all due respect, all your video's show the same thing. There was an apparent issue with the gas system. This in no way qualifies it as a piece of crap. I would like to know if you ever figured out the problem. Could have been something very simple. Do you know ?
On the other hand, I compared both in store and found some negatives with the Derya. At least with the two I looked at. The mag release button was incredibly stiff and very gritty. I had to significantly change my grip to get it to work. Then the mags would not drop free. Again on two different samples. Add the fact as others have mentioned the non existent bolt release. All these things combined kind of defeat the purpose of buying a mag fed Semi Auto. There might have been some other good features but I couldn't get past those flaws.
I then tried the Typhoon. I was totally reluctant due to Mr. Cannon's review and the early models when first introduced. But I'm happy to say I was completely blown away. Everything felt so solid. The mag release was very smooth and worked just like my AR. The bolt release was very easy and worked just like an AR. I have seen some with a B.A.D. lever if that is your thing. It comes with an endless array of accessories in the hard case. Too many to list. Not sure about the bipod though. Kind of made my laugh. Fit and finish is beautiful in a variety of excellent Cerakote finishes. There is a very well designed gas system, but does need to be maintained. There is a piston that can be reversed for light loads or full power loads. Time will tell how well the O rings hold up. They suck in Remington 1100's. My gun functions perfectly with all loads, so no, it is most definitely not a piece of crap compared to the Derya. Quite the opposite. Thanks to Siwash Sports in Chilliwack who do carry both brands to make everyone happy. Quite the awesome little hole in the wall store.
My F12 Maxi has been great. I even bought longer extended chokes so I may use it at my local trap shooting facility where there is a 24" minimum barrel length.
I have found slugs to be much more accurate at 50 yards than I thought would be possible with 12g slugs. Probably one of the better triggers you will ever find on a shotty also.
Early on I had a few FTF with handicapped target loads but since I've broken it in it shoots everything. It's a good idea to go through it and clean and lubricate the action and rails from the get go.
Overall quite pleased...and most importantly looks cool hahaha

Just a quick question. I am assuming that some models have chokes that thread inside the barrel. The manual says never fire the gun without a choke installed in the barrel but my chokes thread on the outside of the barrel. There is no way to fire it with a choke installed if I want to use the fake suppressor or fake muzzle break. What are your thoughts.

I also bought the non-maxi version as well, and was going through the manual and first take-down, and this puzzled me such that I won't shoot it until figured out. All the chokes thread onto the outside of the muzzle, no threads on the inside, so what's the risk of firing slugs without any choke (cylinder) on there?
Perhaps the threading on the outside of the muzzle weakens the tip of the barrel, hence you need something threaded on there, be it a choke tube, the fake suppressor or the fake brake, just to keep the muzzle tight. All the videos I've seen have guys shooting it with the fake brake on there, none I've seen so far have the plain choke tubes, and you can't use a choke with either of the fake go-fast accessories.
Why even bundle the fake suppressor and brake, if you must take them off and thread on a plain boring choke tube? I'm really confused.
I shoot mine with the suppressor or brake and no choke, hasn't done any damage and I've shot 3" 1.25 oz slugs all the way to trap loads
