Typical M1 Garand Accuracy

awesome! i found one on the EE for cheap today and i got it! it probs needs some TLC but i think i can provide that... oh how i have always wanted one of these.... :)

"...are there scope mounts..." A scope, on any rifle, won't make a rifle that doesn't shoot well with iron sights any better.
"...want to bed it..." Isn't done the same way as a bolt action is bedded. Floating any barrel is no guarantee of improved accuracy either.
"...a standard "drop" test..." That's to test for op rod binding. Affects the cycling, but does nothing for accuracy.

Looks nice but, it appears that this mount is designed to completely cook any optic you wish to mount on it.
I know all scout mounts are overtop the hottest part of the barrel, but this model, takes it to a whole new level.

Wrong. I own one of these and it works great.

My rifle (All Breda with a near new VAR barrel ) will shoot 1.5" all day with 165gr Accubonds, even with a cheapo NCStar scope. After two years I've had ZERO problems with this setup. This really is considered the premier scout mount for the M1.
