typical range for gopher

My 222 heavy barrel Sako is zeroed for 150 yards so I like my shots in that realm. We set up on hills and glass the pastures for targets. Not uncommon to shoot several hundred rounds from the same spot where we hunt. Smoke many well past 200 but that depends on wind factors. Close shots, say 50-75 yards get shot over with 22 rimfire but most often leave the closies alone as relocating to an opposing hill will allow shots at these. I love longer shots...ANY dummy can shoot a gopher at 50 yards!
 
My 10-22 i sset-up for 50yrds.. my .17HMR is set-up for a 150yrd zero..

Usually once I find a good spot and sit-down and shoot for a couple hrs with the HMR anywhere from 20-250 yrds (furthest confirmed for me was 236yrds)
