Weather permiting I'll be shooting this weekend... post a report later.

Took both out on Sunday, and they both cycled without flaw... had about 6 shells out of 300 that didn't go BOOM the first time... bought some target ammo now after someone at the range handed me some and I saw the groupings halved.

I really like these two 22's. I am hooked.

The Tyrol and the Brno were very similar shooters... maybe the Tyrol just edged out the Brno. The Brno tossed the cases onto my neighbouring shooter however. Which I didn't notice till someone told me. He said it was like rain...

The ammo that misfired was Blazer... the Remington Sub sonics didn't misfire. This was all I could get my hands on at the time. I am shooting tomorrow with practice and target Eley ammo, and some Federal Target ammo.

The cheap stuff didn't group too well. Iron sights at 25 yards and standing without bracing ) got me 4" group. Target ammo in same position got me 2" group...

I will have to do bench with bag...

Last night I tore it down for cleaning... very easy, but not to the extent of the Brno 851. Needed no tools to get the bolt out etc. To take the stock out though, you would need screw drivers. It is wonderful workmanship...

The single shot feature on the 5522 is kinda neat; I don't know when I would have needed it, but it was neat all the same. You just push the cocking handle down into that little notch. It works the same way to hold it open at the rear. Yes, it's a well-built rifle, solid, has a nice heavy barrel.

BTW, that's the scope I'm sending ya.

I'm looking for magazines (5 or 10 shot) for my Tyrol 5522. If you can help me out in any way I'd appreciate it. By this I mean: if you have extras, know someone selling a 5522, know where I can locate a magazine for this particular gun, etc. Thanks!!!

Reminds me so much of the Stevens model 87. The most accurate semi I have shot. The lock out feature from semi to bolt action is great. When I first saw it...I thought it was a 87 but no 17 shot under barrel tube mag.

Thanks for the great post on this Tyrol, now I need to get me one! If you post pictures of the magazine, I will check my friends shop inventory for one for you!! Where is the Tyrol manufactured, and how old is this fine gun? I can tell by the pictures it is quality built for sure, and the sigleshot detent reminds me of my WeatherbyXXII 22rf. This sigleshot feature is great when training a new shooter for saftey, but lets them grow into a great repeater down the road!cheers for now Dale Z!!
