U.N. and firearms marking

Hi,

Until recently I hadn't realized that the firearms marking legislation was coming into effect on Dec 1st of this year. It's already been delayed once, so I imagine it might not get moved again.

Does anyone know how this will affect antiques? Are they going to have to be marked? Who will do the marking?

I hadn't heard about it for a while, but according to this it's coming into force on Dec 1st.

However, as I recall, the Socialist F**ks enacted a Canadian 'compliance' law that has not been repealed or anything else by Harper's bunch. Without looking, I believe it applies to new firearms only.
"Antique small arms and light weapons and their replicas will be defined in accordance with domestic law. In no case will antique small arms and light weapons include those manufactured after 1899:"
