U.S. brass embargo?!

My money is on that the good folks from Homeland Insecurity have finally had 'the talk' with TOTW about the brass they have been shipping. Or their own Lawyer has.

Is there a distinction anywhere in the ITAR/ Homeland/ whoever rules relating to exporting brass, that specifically exempt brass for Antique guns?

In the meantime, there are still folks that can bring it in, or you can do the import paperwork and buy from a licensed exporter.

Cheers

^What Trevor said. Doubletap in Ontario brings in Starline brass. Last time I looked, they still have 50-70 in stock. As long as thier website info is accurate, this may be your only option Metman2.

It is a relatively simple situation as explained to me by the US border/customs people. Anything in, on or through a firearm is considered a "munition of war" and can be exported outside the US only if the exporter/manufacturer is licenced to do so AND the person (Canadian) seeking to buy them in the US has an export licence to do so from the US State department. Almost nothing is impossible to do - it just takes a lot of paperwork and time. Have you noticed some gun parts like Novak sights and Clark 1911 parts are no longer available to Canada from Brownells because they are not "registered for export" suppliers? The US is now so caught up in a web of paranoia that it no longer seems to know who its REAL friends are.
