Look for a $100 sporter with a good bore and swap out the barrel.
Wj, some of these actions are extremely difficult to separate the actions from the barrels. After all is said and done they've been together for close to a century. The square threads don't help either.
The last one I pulled a barrel from ended up twisting the barrel itself. No big loss as it was badly pitted but I just thought I would warn you. I ended up relieving the set by chucking it up in the lathe and cutting a relief groove as close to the receiver ring as I dared. Even then, it came apart with a loud SNAP.
