Palinski,

Thanks for your suggested interest in the 1911A1,....it is a rather nice rig.

'A rather nice rig'....thats an understatement...specially if thats an original finish (sure looks it)

Koldt,

I received your question regarding whether any of the belts shown in the photos were Norwegian, and I sent a response which perhaps you did not get.

I believe the photos below should answer your question.

These are both German manufactured belts of the 1938/1939 time period.

Both buckles are "Assman" marked, the lighter brown belt is dated 1938 with the German manufacturers stamp,....I believe it is a political belt.

The darker brown belt is 1939 stamped with the manufacturers marking;...I believe this is a German officer’s belt.

Klunk,

The 1911A1 is all original.

The color of the parkerizing can change dramatically in photos depending on the lighting,......capturing accurate color finish on certain guns I find a great challenge.

For anyone who is interested I changed and added some photos of the 1941 Mauser Portuguese Contact K98k rifle on page 1 of this thread.

Nope, didn't get it.

Some Norwegian 6.5X55 rifle ammunition pouches are marked exactly the same, and they are pretty distinct. I was going to bid on evilbay for a Norwegian ammunition pouch similarly marked, but went for crazy money. Most of the Norwegian leather is unmarked, so that's why I was interested in the German marked pouch. I saw the same maker's mark on a Krag bayonet frog as well. Both the ammo pouch and frog I saw were late '30s marked.

Good thing I didn't get the one pouch, as I would have then had to find a complete set of German, and as per any collecting thing, it gets stupid (or I do:redface:)

Sooooooo, should you want to part with the one with the double leather 'keepers' '39 dated, pulllleeeeezzzzzzz keep me in mind. As I think I'm the only one I know who collects Norwegian WW2 kit. As there just wasn't a lot of it made, or used for very long. I've been using a post war one to complete my set, and it's only the belt I'm missing.

I'm away from my home computer, or I'd post the pictures I saved of other Norge belts I saved as examples.

BTW, thanks a bunch for posting your stuff! Excellent!

Strangeday.

This stuff will all be available at some point.

I am not getting any younger.
