U.S. Model of 1917 Eddystone

They have a idea in their head that some how somebody will try and steal it if they know the serial number. Nobody has been able to get that idea out of peoples minds.
My Eddystone is 13350 higher then the one Boss showed and has all US markings. Tried for years to find a bayonet for it but no luck.

My P17 is my favourite milsurp that I currently have. Bang on accurate, great sights and just a joy to shoot. Highly underrated.

@ Hitzy:

Yours is 5,000 higher than mine, Hitzy..... but you have the correct BOLT!

LOTTA difference, right there!

Nice piece!

Thanks for showing.

Well...it gets worse..lol. I picked it up about 10 years ago, somebody spent some time making a target rifle out of it. It's well bedded..in a 1917 stock, front sight was milled down to a dovetail for a PH clamp on globe front sight, and the rear sight assembly was not with the rifle any longer...PH5B instead. Barrel was full of lead... I guess a cast shooter. Anyway it shoots really well, and now I have a 5B for my 1917's and discovered those Swiss Products clamp on K31 front sights work just fine on a 1917 barrel too. I can trick them out with full target sights without any perma mods now....

Most of the ones I have come across have the red band on the stock and are marked with the c broad arrow.

What is market value for these red band m1917's these days?

Another very dumb question... any chance to find one Eddystone with canadian markings on it?

Martin
I have an Eddystone with a serial number under one million that sadly has a spoerterized stock but that has the C broad arrow markings on the butt. I am thinking that it likely never made it overseas and was used as a home guard rifle before being sold as surplus.

If I would have the choice, I would like to get one with the red band and also with an original box of munition like myenfield showed us. For me, the combo is a great piece of History. Of course, this combo must be almost impossible to find?!
