I've read in recent months on a couple different forums where reloaders have either milled off the base of their FL die or stoned off the face of their shellholder in order to reload for a rifle that is so tightly headspaced that regular FL sizing doesnt work.(shellholder to die base contact)

Unless the rifle is for a flat out wildcat round with an ultra tight chamber it makes me wonder where the heck these guys got their first fired cases from
as that tight of a chamber should not even take a factory round.

Has anyone out there had to go that far to get a reloaded round to chamber and what were the circumstances?

If round has been fired from a rifle with lots of headspace it stretches the brass too much that a regular FL will not bring it back enough to be chambered in a rifle with a small amount of headspace. A fired brass from my brothers Rem 788 22-250 will not chamber in my Tikka T3 Lite 22-250 even after being Fl’d.
