I’m looking for advice on how to re-attach the front sight on my revolver. It somehow came loose and fell out of the slot, I think it needs to be silver-soldered/brazed back on. Any thoughts about how to fix this would be much appreciated.

I would try lightly peening the sight base so it fits snugly in the groove. Try some loctite too. silver-soldering will certainly work but keeping the solder from bleeding everywhere is extremely tricky and remember, you can't reblue over solder.

JB weld has worked on my ruger vaquero when it happened to me at a match.

Thanks for the input, I might just try to slightly reshape the base of the sight widen it out so it fits snugly and epoxy it back in the slot. This way I’ll avoid heating up the barrel and having solder residue left behind...
