I just bought a new Uberti Highwall in 45-70 but which load data do I use?
I am going to be shooting 405gr cast bullets and do I use the 1873 Springfield data or the 1886 Winchester loads or the Ruger No.1 or No. 3 loads? I just don't known which category my rifle falls under?

45-70

That should be lots of fun for you. I expect the Uberti is much the same as my Pedersoli rolling block as far as strength goes. Pedersoli states that you can safely use any Factory loaded 45-70 ammunition with no worries. As for handloads most sources and opinions are to keep them down to trap door levels with either black or smokeless powders. These rifles are NOT in the same class as Marlin or Winchester1886 lever actions and the Ruger #1 is stronger still. Keep the loads down to 28000 cup and you'll be fine.
