Does anyone here shoot either of these pistols? How do you like them? I love the appearance of the 1858 Remington, but don't want to get into messing with black powder. I prefer the appearance of the 1858 to the 1875 but could settle for either. The 1890 looks too similar to a Colt. I know where there is a new 1875 conversion, just have to decide if I want to spend that much.

I was under the impression the new manufacture conversion pistols could handle smokeless but please don't quote me on that. I totally agree with you though, the 1858 Remington conversions are bad ass!

I have the Uberti 1858 Remington Conversion in .45 Colt with 8" barrel. I recommend it. Haven't shot it a lot, but love the looks of them. I think it looks better than the 1875.

I have them both. Very accurate revolvers. The NMA (58) conversion is .44-40, and the 1875 is .45 Colt. Both handle smokeless, but I only shoot Black Powder through mine. They are both prone to hand spring breakage, so be prepared for that. I shoot Cowboy Action so they both see more action then normal.
The NMA conversion is a bit of a knuckle basher. I have big hands so the rear part of the trigger guard bashes my knuckles.

Good guns! I prefer the 1875 the most.

The Pietta '58s have a reshaped grip frame for larger hands to prevent knuckle bashing. I've got examples of both the old and new frames.
