uestion about mounting a bipod on a 10/22

Uncle Mikes sells a swivel kit that has a fore end adapter for the 10/22 carbine barrel band.
You DO NOT want to attach a bipod to a barrel band sling stud though.
It'll be loose and wobble all over, marking up your nice wood stock in the process.

Yes after posting this, I`m like: "that can`t work". My bipod seat needs to sit flat again`st the stock. I really hate to drill into the stock, but if I need to I will I guess. I just thought after looking at it: Is there something that attaches to that barrel band"??? Who is this "Uncle Mikes"??
I don`t see how that would work at all. My bipod has the two fingers with pegs that need to grasp onto a stud and pull the bipod tight against the stock when tightened. How that rail would work is beyond me.
You have a Harris style bipod. I would get one of the studs you were looking at and relieve a bit of metal off the inside of the band to make it fit snug. You can also buy a take off wood or synthetic stock on the EE for a few bucks and experiment with it. I bought a number of the standard barrels, stocks and bands over the years for projects like you are thinking about.
I would need one of these to attach to that picanny rail you guys have mentioned.
That barrel band with the rail was $50 plus whatever this piece would be.....I might as well drill the dreaded hole I didn`t want to. I could go buy a standard stock on the EE for $25-$40 if I ever wanted to get rid of the hole for the stud. Nothing is easy lol.
