Ugartechea 1042 sidelock question

I have found a used one of these. From what I can tell/find this is the top of the line for Ugartechea. Aspen Outfitting lists them at $11,500USD. Are these guns worth that kind of money? The price I found for a used one is $5k Canadian in mint condition. It is choked too tight for my purpose but I can probably find a gunsmith to fix that for me. Anyway, any thoughts on these guns? If you had $5k (not that I really do but I have done stupid things before) to spend on a side by side would you consider buying one of these?

Depends completely on the individual and his/her preferences - there is also the question of gun fit unless you are aware of it's true measurements and that conforms to you.

It would certainly be prudent to be able to throughly inspect something like that first hand prior to parting with the dough.....I've a feeling that you are very likely "long distance" to that :).
 
Yes, it is long distance but it I can inspect and send back if not satisfied. My main question is one of quality. Is the quality of a sidelock Ugartechea in line with other makers like say AYA? I think this one is relatively new.
 
Ugartechea high end product quality is no less than those from AYA, Arrieta etc.

If memory serves, SakoAlberta was talking about bringing in some Grullas...his prices are quite competitive.
 
I know where you saw this gun and was considering it for myself. From everything I've read neither of us would ever be disappointed with it.
