Who's got (or had) the ugliest bore?

Here's my entry, Marlin 30-30. Can't get anymore of the copper out (maybe some bore butter?).
500+ rounds, she shoots great and holds 2 MOA out to 200y


My savage axis 223 looked like this. Shot damn good though. And wasn't a lick of copper in it.

I can see how the radial machine marks were made on the lands/internal bore by a rotating reamer, but what's really got me puzzled is how did the same marks get engraved in the bore grooves as well. All grooves are cut or swaged by a longitudinal moving tool not a rotating tool as the markings in this photo suggest.

Longitudinally moving 1/64" at a time though a very tight bore with no oil might do it. The marks aren't actually spiral, just evenly spaced out chatter rings.

Maybe if you count em they'll tell you how old the barrel is........ :)
