My bad--I read the caption and didn't look at the image. It's a Lee-Enfield. Regardless, I don't know why someone would do this to walnut. But it gets worse:

I suppose tasteful, Twilight Sparkle-loving brony gun modders could use purpleheart for grips. The wood has about the density and hardness of Pau Ferro, but is (surprise!) bright purple:

Again, I'm too Fudd for this. Even laminated stocks are too flamboyant for me.
