I don't consider myself a Glock fan by any stretch, but I do like polymer pistols and I've always had a bit of a soft spot for the Gen 1 Glock 17. I gotta call from a guy last evening asking if I would be interested in a deal on an original 17 complete with its original tupperware box and paperwork for $350..the pistol apparently had some "customization" which I assumed meant goodies like trigger work or even a threaded barrel. The situation seemed legit...the guy needed rent money and was in a bit of a bind. For $350, I raced out to the ATM withdrew the cash and drove across town to the guys house. Everything looked good..til I opened the box...Feck!!....he stippled it!!...everywhere...and it was horrible...looked like it was done with a hot nail! futhermore he had all the stampings on the slide filled in with yellow paint....oh, it gets worse, I asked if I could remove the slide and discovered that one of the rear rails was sheered off,..it didn't seem to affect the slide function much, but I sure as heck wasn't gonna shoot it! I briefly thought about just buying it anyway, because Glock would replace the frame due to the broken rail, but then I thought about the horrible stippling....they likely wouldn't touch this thing with a ten foot pole. I'm gonna put in a call to Glock and see if this gun can be saved....I'm telling them everything...maybe they'll exercise some "good will". In the meantime, I offered the guy $300 and he's thinking about it. I figure its worth that in parts if worse comes to worse.

What's wrong with people I treat my guns like members of my family. (Or better)

He needed rent money $350 to $300 okay must not need it that bad.... Is this guy a friend ?

I'm sure to some people the stippling looks good, but I have always thought it completely ruined the gun. I would leave the gun with its current owner.
