I'm liking the sound of this...Assuming that you get these built, will there be any ammo? I've always wondered why, if we can't buy 20mm from the States, why can't we get surplus 12.7mm or 14.5mm from some Eastern European or african country?
Our plan is to build a few 20mm single shot target rifles. The chambering will be 20x138B which although technically obsolete, newly manufactured casings and 50 BMG primers are available. The projectiles will be lathe turned monolithic.
A close friend of mine owns a bullet making company and is working on the bullet end of the project. We are hoping to attain a bullet with a 2.0 or better B.C., likely close to 3" long (yes you read that right 3 inches).
The reason for not seeing much in any of the medium or larger size ordnance such as 14.5 or even 20 in Canada is yet again government regulation and bureaucratic B.S. both by our government and foreign governments.
Several years ago in South Africa I purchased a LARGE quantity of 20x138B and 50 BMG casings from PMP Denel only to be denied an export permit from S.A. and import certs from Canada. This was casings only, not live ammo.
