Well, buddy of mine wanted to sell his Sako L461 in 222, so I jumped on it as I have always wanted a 222. Only problem is we arent sure what its really worth, its got the sporster barrel on it and a hinged floor plate, stock is beat up a little but not bad and the metal is in great shape. It has a cheap 6-18X50 scope on it thats not worth much. Whats this sucker worth? I gave him some cash for it, what we both thought was reasonable but told him if I screwed him I would pay him extra. Any ideas? Thanks guys/gals!
 
I'm not 100% sure, but I think the year of production for the L461 was the last two digits of the rifle's serial number?
 
Not as easy as that I am afraid. Sako collectors website seems to be down currently, I am not sure what is happening there as it was up within the last few weeks. (sakocollectors.com) There are some good resources there which can help you date your rifle (by serial # range).
Without a pic, $700 is probably close to it's value. Nice little rifles!
