Looks identical to the one I had. Gun will probably outlast anyone reading this thread, but I found it to be too large/too much rifle for a single shot. I remember shooting CB longs from mine @ a soup can. The barrel is so long that the bullet hitting the can was louder than the gun going off. lol

I do not think that era of rifles had a serial number when made - so when long gun registry occurred in Canada, got a "sticker" with a number to put on it. Who says those stickers never fell off?? Or were never stuck on? Or whatever other reason for "no sticker"? I think there is a Cooey 39 or a Cooey 60 somewhere here that still has the sticker - was on the rifle when I bought it.

The 75 is not a popular or desirable gun due to its sheer bulk size and weight.
Not the opinion you want to hear about a gun you own but $200 shipped in Canada would be a generous offer.

The first thing to check is if there is play in the bolt hold the back of the bolt in one hand then with the other hand move the front of the bolt if there is side to side movement it may have extraction issues a new extractor will not fix this issue only a new bolt will and we know those can not be found
If no play it should fetch 200$ at the top end ??

What about a 78 with both the peep and the v-notch sights?

I love those 75s, the breech is like 3/4" and quiets are really quiet with that long thick bbl. They inexpensive accurate and fun to restore.

They're only 5/8" thick. After 18" they taper down..

Under 300$ complete today prices, the rear peep goes for up to 150$. I paid 80$ for mine 6 years ago for one.

do you mean 82?

No there was a 78 model that had the L peep rear, as well the v notch. I had one well it was marked Eaton Ranger. But it was based on the 78 model.

Remember it well. My first time shooting .22 LR and first and only negligent discharge. I was six. Neighbour brought it over for slaughtering pigs on butchering day. He let me shoot it, prone, and even then I couldn't control the muzzle because it was so heavy and unbalanced. In trying to control it, I grabbed wrong and pulled the trigger.
Fortunately the bullet went downrange into the stubble field and did no harm.
Learned a pretty powerful lesson from that, to be honest.
