Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has had to fit their ultimak to there M305 barrel.
when installing the recoil lug clamp the instructions state that there should be clearance around the barrel and the mount should still be able to move. when I bolted my mount up it was tight around the recoil lug. Any suggestions? Does anyone know what the clearance/gap size should be?

Got your PM Bushhunter ...Did you get a Shorty or regular length rifle ?? ,
When you installed the receiver lugs did you have the thinner side facing the barrel ?
I mounted mine on my Shorty and the Shorty barrel is thicker where the ultimak will attach so you have to remove some material on the ultimak mounting point at the receiver lug area. I bought a round ball like attachment for my drill that removed the aluminum material really well.
I read your post and when mounting the rail tighten the barrel lug area(area directly under my reddot) down first and the front and rear of the rail should still be able to move up and down ( even on the regular length rifle).Once the rail is installed it should have a small gap between the bottom of the rail and the stock .The rail should touch nothing but the barrel.

I dont know what your using for optics but my TRS will cowitness with the iron sights .Here is a link from 50calshooter to some more info and pics where he mounted an ultimak on a Shorty , it shows where and how much material is to be removed from the rail ...... (if you have a Shorty that is)

Do you guys know if you can run a ARMS 18 Scope mount with the Ultimak Rail? Or will that adjuster screw in the front get in the way? Reason I ask is I think the ARMS sits low enough to be able to run a red dot on the Ultimak or high power optics with the arms with a throwlever ARMS scope rings.
 
Send a message to Hungry and he will hook you up with a replacement screw for the front of your Arms 18 , I got one for my other rifle so I didnt have to cut a notch in my handguard .

I am thinking of replacing the UTG rail on my M305 with the Ulitmak, does anyone know if it will allow a Vortex SPARC to cowitness?

I mounted my Sparc on the Ultimak to compare it with the Bushnell TRS-25
The Sparc sits a tiny bit higher than my TRS but it still gave me a 1/3 co-witness on my Shorty even mounted too far foward as in the pic., so I think it should work on yours .

Sorry, don't mean to hijack op but Are there any pics of a vortex strike fire on an ultimak? Does anyone know if it will co witness? Are there any threads with pics that someone can lead me to?

Very cool. Where are you guys getting your Ultimak rails from? I'm planning on setting up my Mini 14 like this and I'd like to order from a Canadian retailer but I can't find one.

Even if you go with the Aimpoint T-1/H-1 you will find that the TRS-25 is the lowest sitting red dot on the market to date.
