hey guys, i was referred to this forum by someone on CGN that seemed to think you guys could help me. Im looking for a canadian distributor of the Ultimak m8 rail for my Norinco, I've been searching the internet with no luck can anybody help me out??? it would be greatly appreciated!

I bought mine at Brownells , no problems getting it shipped here .
It is a really good rail system , are you putting it on a Shorty (factory18.5 in barrel ) or regular length M-305 ?
I put mine on a shorty and it took a little inletting on the stock to get it to fit correctly as the barrel profile on the Shorty is different.

when I get back from holidays that stock I promised you will be enroute I like the look of that TRS. I have an ultimak in the drawer and I'm putting together a shorty with one of the canada ammo shorty barrels. Noticed on previous installs on these shorty barrels that the front M8 mounting area and the clamp, need to be custom fit. I have had to hone them out to create more diameter so the rail would sit level.
Might just go the TRS route on this build with one of my new CQB stocks. Have you used it hunting?

And yes I have hunted with it and it has a great balance to it....well l carried it around in the bush last year ..lol
The Ultimak wont fit with the Blackfeather stock.
And you are right my Ultimak had to be inletted at the op rod guide location so my Canam shorty would fit correctly .The barrel profile is thicker there than a reg length barrel.
The USGI stock I put in in had to be inletted alot under the trigger pads to accept the Canam shorty as well.

I've ran into an issue while installing my rail, maybe somebody can help me out.
The front barrel clamp does not seem to be the right size for my barrel. I am putting it on a full length norinco m305. The instructions tell me to tighten the front clamp until it sits fluch in the bracket on the handguard, but when I tightened mine both sides of the clamp still protruded about 1/8 of an inch on both sides. While i was trying to get it to sit flush, I stripped a part of the thread on the clamp. Any body have any ideas? It seems like my front clamp is out of spec, beacause both the recoil lug clamp and the rear barrel clamps sit completely fine.
