The stars and planets must have been aligned right for me this morning at the range. Weather was overcast, no wind :D and the temperature was 13C. Distance was 100 yds, ammo used was SK Standard Plus, 5 shot group, Rock BR front rest and rear bag, Leupold VX II 6-18X40 AO scope. I had just put this scope on this morning so it took a few rounds to get sighted back in. I built this rifle earlier this year (it no longer has the bipod).

Dlask 16" fluted target barrel and Dlask receiver
Kidd bolt, handle, action pin set, 2 stage trigger set at 14/7 oz.
Now for the target :D BTW I did have a friend witness the target :cheers: I'm framing this one. The group measures .454" overall so after subtracting the bullet diameter of .224 I get a final measurement of .230". That's under 1/4":eek: and no I could not duplicate that target again for the rest of the morning.

Impressive with a full on target gun let alone a breathed on 10/22. Nice shooting. I didn't know SK was cladding their Standard+ ammo.;)
 
I am very impressed. That is phenomenal.

What was the average group size?
What do you normally get with that gun and hunting ammo?

I've got to find some of that ammo and try it out.

great shooting but not really a 10/22 anymore is it? that's a custom built 22lr with very few ruger parts.
 
Did the run down the only thing stock is the take down screw . i think u better get a new one. then youll have a 100% non factory 1022
 
The round in the picture is a Winchester Dynapoint and only there for a size reference. Forgot to add that the action screw is aftermarket from Bits of Pieces so the only Ruger part used are the magazines.:D SK is the only ammo I now use in this gun and it will shoot an inch and under if I do my part, like I said originally everything lined up today.

I had a 10/22 with a Green Mountain barrel that only had the receiver and bolt left stock and it was a real joy to shoot in the gopher fields or on paper. Regrettably, I sold it to fund another build but will probably reproduce something similar down the road.
