and yeah, good assumption, learn things thoroughly, not sure what's happened to the world of late but I'm thinking too much time wearing masks over the past couple years. Have fun with 25-06, it's one of the best 20th century rides, and I'll take your word that you're deadly with it, the deer we hunt won't be able to tell the difference though and my freezer will be just as full as yours

I've been thinking it maybe the only carbine like it not just in Canada but in the world...

I shoot heads off of grouse at 80 yards with it using my less expensive 200gr SST @ 2350fps loads.

Bought it on the EE as a handgun removed the barrel installed it onto a non-restricted frame then sold the restricted frame it came with...
 
If the Post was titled What is the best deer gun you can still buy ammo for in 2022 , you would have only a dozen or two replies.

Go to your 4 biggest stores and see what ten calibers they have availability ? Go outside the big city and box stores you will likely have 4 or 5 calibers to choose from. The nicest rifle without ammo is little more than a metal pipe screwed to a piece of wood.

Here you go I'll share my super rare 12.5" barreled Rem 700 PCR short rifle in 308 Win wish it was available in 338 Fed though...

This might be the second buck ever shot in Canada with these rifles I shot the first one the week before.

Henry R in Calgary did cool take down aluminum knurled knob same diameter of pistol grip as part of the main screw that goes up through the grip to attach the butt stock to the frame, on a 7-08 (knocked back to 20") take down sheep stuff in the pack rifle I did before finally doing it more right with a blaser k95...you're not that far west so if you ever want to take that little toad to take down send me a pm and I'll get you the masters phone number, he's just east of yyc now.

.308 you can still buy. Others not so much.

Yeah, I've used the 22 Hornet to 9.3mm to Buckshot they all worked, use whatever you want. The 22-250 puts them on the ground the fastest.
