Ultimate do everything but not over do anything cartridge for all big game hunting

strathcona county, edmonton bowzone, canmore bowzone. all in alberta. and yes, you can hunt with guns in strathcona county (shotguns and muzzleloaders) but not a 375. i'll politely suggest you read your hunting regs before calling me uninformed.

LOL. Anywhere you can hunt with a rifle in AB, you can use a .375.

what is overkill anyways? is that making it too dead? 7mm weatherby mag gets my vote. will kill anything in this country verrryyy well.... :D

Are you guys still fighting over this??? :D Christ I come home from moose hunting with THE "ULTIMATE Do-all but not over-do anything" rifle (21" Barreled Sako 85 LSS .338 FUDDERAL) and you guys are still yappin' back and forth.

Using my 17HMR loaded with 17gr bullets, 204 Ruger with 32gr bullets, 223 with 40gr bullets, 22-250 with 55gr bullets, 300RUM with 180gr bullets, 375H&H with 300gr bullets, 45-70 with 405gr hard cast etc etc I've blown gophers up or cut them in 1/2 was that overkill as well?

:p

Wow that read took awhile. So the 30-06 is good but the .300WSM is better at being an all around cartridge;) When I bought a 300WSM this year that is at least what I told my wife "hunny this gun will do it all". If my wife can't shoot it because of the recoil that is her problem and does not change the fact that the cartridge would be a grat platform for everything in NA.

Whats wrong with the .280AI it has not even mentioned in this thread. I fail to see how a .270 can trump it...:nest:

Maybe the fact that the 280AI is a wildcat and not available at Canadian Tire has something to do with the fact that the 270 is a better choice for more people.

While the 280AI is a very good cartridge, in reality the practical advantage is minimal over a lot of factory offerings.
