I visited the Ultimatum stand at the IWA show in Germany last Saturday. They seem to make very nice actions and I was so impressed I ordered one for a build with a Hawk Hill Barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor. We have quite a few custom actions coming through our workshop, some of the big names just did not impress me.
What is the verdict of these actions on here?

They seem to have some mixed comments on here. You should be able to search in the forums and find the postings. Some guys are loving them and have great things to say, others state issues with the action and having it twisting in the stock.
Jerry at Mystic has some and seems to have great things to say, maybe reach out to him

Thanks for the referral. Contact me if you have questions. Been working with the Gen 2s for over a year now. I am a dealer for them because the product has impressed me with a range of interesting and innovative features. The bolt size will require some adjustments in the mag latch for some stock/chassis but other receivers also require the same tweak.

This is not a hard thing to do and any competent gunsmith setting up precision rifles can sort this out in a few minutes... Why there is so much whinning about it?????

The biggest negative perception to the action is the stiff bolt lift.... the first ones were way too heavy... the gen2 first run were heavy out of the box but smooth out and lighten massively after some use. I have one of the first Gen 2s and it is light, smooth and fast now that I have cycled the action a bunch.

I have received, let's call it Gen 2.2 and these were smooth and light out of the box.

JP Ent will use the Ultimatum as their receiver in their new precision bolt rifle line.

They are showing up in custom US precision rifle builds and quietly doing their thing.

Happy to tell you more about all the smart ideas built in. PM or email info@mysticprecision.com

Thanks for the replies. I have yet to see the perfect action. Little things do not disturb me and being an old school precision mechanic by first trade I am used to tweaking things. Often used to re-work tiny injection molding tools/molds under the microscope. The action will be bedded into one of our carbon stocks and therefore not too worried about that either. We have quite a lot of different custom actions coming through our workshop and most of them didn't interest me however these action caught my eye and after handling them I thought I must try one at least. I might have heard the name of the company before but knew nothing about them... it was purely the action that caught my attention.
I'll keep you posted once the bits come together.
