here ya go, problem solved. Two 20 " pieces.

I've had a couple 20" takedowns unfortunately, including this one in 9.3x62, looking for ultra-compact.

Here are two of my kill anything short take down defense/200 yard hunting guns.

14" barreled T/C Contender carbine in 375JDJ if your questioning what this cartridge/barrel length can do many have taken elephants with this barrel length/cartridge combo.

Only pic I have of this combo this is a G2 frame.

Here it is again but with a Super 14 barrel in 45-70 I load this with bullets from 250gr to 430gr.

Now imagine this 45-70 with a T/C Rynite stock and a 1X Leupold Prismatic scope = less than 5lbs of 200 yard thump.

Yes it is a take down just 2 fore end screws and a cross pin overall length with the 14" barrels with a 14" length of pull is 29 1/2 ".

easy to carry and surprisingly quick to reload...

While Camp Cooks choice of caliber is sound and they look great I think the TC encore platform is positively horrible in the role of a dangerous game/defensive rifle.
Having to break your cheek weld to open the action and then lose your sight picture to extract a spent shell (no ejector) and chamber a fresh one is crazy. Single shots have their place...this role is not one of them IMHO.

Agreed. It is super cool, but not for the task at hand.

That and the fact you have a braked 45-70 about 18" from your ear.

Firstly for clarification these are not the Encore/Prohunter platform these rifles are Contenders in this case a G2 Contender the much smaller/cooler parent platform to the Prohunter/Encore.

I forget that I don't have an issue with loud sounds when in the bush because I always wear my Magnum Ear molded hearing aids that amplify normal sounds and cut off sounds over 85 decibels.

Single shots may not be as fast as a good shooter with a bolt/lever/pump action but in the hands of a guy who can shoot them properly and Ardent is a guy that can do it they are far faster than you would think and probably faster than many of you can shoot with your prefered action rifles/shotguns.

And don't forget the Miroku Winchester model 94 Trails End takedown rifle in 450 Marlin.
I have one and it's an excellent rifle that weighs in at only 6 3/4 pounds and travels well on an ATV, motorcycle or pack-sack.
It has a 20" ported barrel.
The workmanship, quality and w/m fitting are superb.

Agreed but a .454 Casull revolver with a 7.5" barrel is relatively easy to carry and pack into small places and a 300 grain bullet at 1650 fps is not bad medicine at close range.

It is way smaller than some of my (non-takedown admittedly) other work guns.

I had a Freedom Arms .475 Linebaugh 4 3/4", was essentially a 12 gauge in a handgun, as it launched a 1oz bullet at 1,350fps. I just find I do much better work with a rifle, especially in pot filling detail.

I'm certainly thinking 3 piece, or maybe a Ruger factory folder stock (mini-14) fitting into the stock of a different rifle, as it can be inletted into any wood or composite.

I can't see how a folding stock would get you anywhere near your spec of 18" pieces. Also keep in mind the rules regarding OAL minimums for firearms with folding stocks.

A real interesting thread but what a conundrum.
What the hell I'll throw in my idea of the perfect "Rambling","bear defence" ,"survival" ,"sleep better at night" rifle for my stomping grounds.
A Ranch hand in .45 Colt pushing toasty heavy for caliber hardcast handloads would be the easy way out...I even fitted a synthetic stock on mine.
Cheap like borscht...500$ off the EE.
Takes down with one screw.
Modified the goofy big-loop...it's dog-sh$t along with the stock sights.
Had to install a flip-flop recoil pad (props to Why-Not) because it thumps a fella pretty good. Follow-up shots are ridiculously fast.
Cerakoting is in the future plans and covers the weatherproof angle.

It'll be a long time til anything is built, unfortunately as with most questions they keep getting dragged far from the intent and purpose.

Have someone make a folding stock for a Blaser R93, or so the butt and pistol grip portion can be separated from the frame/fore grip area, a 2 piece. Everything comes apart easily and after its assembled, 100% back to previous accuracy. Max length would be the barrel, which come in 19.7" for the tracker barrel.

Problem solved.......sort of. You just need to find someone who's brave enough to chop up a $1500 stock/receiver.
