Ultra sonic cleaner

OP - look up the older CGN Post that I linked above - about Post #39 in that thread, I more or less summarized what I had discovered while playing with it - recall that I was trying to clean GUN PARTS, not BRASS CASES. As I recall, hotter was better - my machine will go up to 80 C - took like an hour to get that hot - parts were just soaking in baggie until them - then the US took EVERYTHING, including most of the colour case hardening colours off the exterior of the receiver - rust, dried oils and grease, "patina" - about everything appeared to be gone - except "bluing".

^ That was going to be my Plan "B", if the baggie were to leak - there are several plastic peanut butter containers on hand for that. As I understand how it works, the Ultra Sound is a pulse of energy in the fluid - so long as there is fluid on both sides of the plastic or glass, the "pulse" goes through, as if it was not there. So, it apparently will not work unless there is fluid in the baggie or jar.

Do not rest anything on the bottom of the tank, doing so will damage or destroy the transducers over time due to the changed load and harmonics. Shell out if necessary for the wire baskets that hang off the rim of the tank. You can also make them out of stainless steel mesh if you're a bit handy. The best solution is to use something like a hanging file frame standing over the cleaner and then put some pieces of dowel or whatever across the frame and hang larger items so they don't touch the tank at all. Pieces of stainless wire you can quickly bent into hooks of he right length are good, Vevor or clones look pretty good, but get the ones with the dials. The plastic over the button type fails over time and is more difficult and slow to set.
You can use plastic jars with enough air to float the jar while the articles themselves remain immersed in the jar's solution.

Probably better for the mother in law's dishwasher if I get one for the father in law by the sounds of it. He likes to stand them up and run a cycle in the dishwasher!
