Ultrasonic brass cleaners.

Has anyone ever used one of these? They appear to be relatively new to the market. Hornady and Lyman both make them. I was just wondering if someone has ever tried one and can comment on there effectiveness?
 
I have the Hornady model. I use it for rifle brass and it does a pretty nice job of getting the carbon out of the interior of the case and out of the flash holes. There is room for about 50 .308 cases at a time and I usually run 4- 480 second cycles.

I wouldn't bother with it for pistol brass. A tumbler will hold way more brass and does just fine cleaning out the straight pistol brass.
 
I have a 1.75 gallon Crest that I use for my pistols/parts. I threw some brass in once just to see...it was pretty shiney when it came out (and pretty green when it went in)
 
Only use for it in my opinion is for cartridges you can not use in a tumbler, like the 5.7x28, or other laquer coated cases where the laquer is nessicary for feeding.
 
i looked into ultrasonic and found someone that used it and he liked it so i went and checked it out and wasn't overly impressed and i ended up ordering stainless tumbling media and tumbler from stainlesstumblingmedia.com due to the amazing reviews and will never go any other root he has now came and looked at how mine did and he ordered the same setup that night and now only uses his sonic for coated cases like mentioned above in my mind for brass if your a clean freak like i have been accused of being STM is the only option

stainless steel media
just make certain no media is left inside
some one on Sniper hide showed what happened when he forgot one
simple ...... a scrap barrel the litle stainless stell stick welded itself inside the barrel
 
I too will eventually get setup with stainless media.

If I were shooting a 6PPC or other bench rest competition where I was neck turning and match prepping Lapua brass I would have a look at Ultra sonic.
