Just opened up a new Hornady 2L Ultrasonic Cleaner and have been looking at the various cleaning solutions posted here and on line.
I was wondering if anyone has tried the Birchwood Casey Brass Case Cleaner concentrate.
I have used it for cleaning and it seems to work well on the outside but not inside of the case.
Possibly the ultrasonic action will help.

Thats common. I've tried every recipe I could find as well as the concentrates, going back to vinegar/water. I just hate how vinegar leaves stains... Try the BC concentrate with a tbsp or so of vinegar per 50 rounds. I bet that'll work.
 
I fill a old pop bottle with vinegar and dump in some salt, then give it a good big squirt of dish soap and shake up real good. then I just leave it on the shelf in the gun room and when I do a load of brass I give it a quick shake and dump in a bit. its super easy and cheap... and it gets stuff nice and shiny :D
 
I gave up on ultrasonic and went wet tumble with stainless pins. Night and day difference. No more cleaning primer pockets makes it well worth while!
 
ya I plan to get a SS tumbler to clean after them after ive de-primed, then after sizing, give em a quick wash in the ultra sonic to get the lube off...
 
1 tsp of citric acid powder per 1 litre of water works well for me albeit the insides aren't quite perfect. better interior cleaning than vibratory tumbling in walnut anyway....citric acid powder can be found at your local Bulk Barn
 
I use the Lyman cleaning solution. I used to do the whole vinegar/soap/baking soda thing, but my cases would tarnish terribly as they dried. No such problems anymore.
 
I used vinegar/soap/water when I was using my ultrasonic...but I hated having to clean them all to avoid stains...I went back to vibratory tumbling and will one day go to wet tumble with SS pins. Although the ultrasonic definitely comes in handy when cleaning individual gun parts
 
you just have to rinse them good and you want have water spots... I rinse them good, then shake out as much water as I can, then stick in side a towel and shake around for a min to get out a little bit more, then stick them in a little toaster oven I have. on low heat they take about 5-10 min to dry but I leave them in there for 20 just to make sure ALL the water is dried out of them... I would rather wait a few extra min than have a bit of water left in a primer pocket...
 
I tried the ultrasonic method and was never happy with it. Then I went to the stainless pins and never looked back. This is the process I use.

I deprime on a separate cheap Lee press using a depriming only die to keep the crap out of my good press and dies. Then I size and trim using a high speed trimmer. After that I clean them in the stainless pins. I don't clean the lube off first and the solution takes it all away. Inside, outside and primer pockets come out perfectly clean. Then I dry them for a few days (or oven dry in the winter) and anneal the brass before loading. The annealing at that stage ensures I have a perfectly dry case.

Thanks all for your input.
I will be trying your suggestions for sure. If it does not work out for me My next step is to move to a tumbler with SS pins.
I did read something about ceramic media tumbling once but I can't seem to find the article now.
