Hello everyone,
Any of you have experience using an ultrasonic cleaner for dislodging small rusty screw and 100 years of accumulated mix of dried powder, oil and grease in a receiver.
Thank for your feedback

All my experience using a ultrasonic cleaner is for "cleaning" however it may work, try and soak the screw in question in some Kroil first? and then maybe a few hrs in the ultrasonic tank, just make sure it's steel, ultrasonics' don't like anodized aluminium that much especially for long periods. Try and run it as hot as possible as well. Good Luck.

An ultrasonic can remove loose rust scale but will not entirely remove rust without the addition of de-rusting chemicals. the ultrasonic action really helps remove the grease and dirt to allow any other de-rusting process be more effective. after you get the old gunk out you can use the ultrasonic action to help penetrating oil get into the threaded area by placing the receiver in a ziplock and then submerging it in penetrating oil, removing most of the air from the bag and leaving the sealed zipper part up out of the ultrasonic's water.

Love my u/s cleaner. (15lt)
Like in Steve's vid I use straight water and use various size jars and freezer bags with different cleaners in them.
Works great!
You mention "dislodging small rusty screw"... not sure it would work in that case, the liquid needs to be touching the surface (screw threads) to do it's magic.
Have you tried using a soldering gun to heat just the screw? Then let it cool. I've had some luck with that.
Also, just throwing it out there, a good set of Drivers is a must.
