About two years ago I picked up a couple of "Trusonik" ultrasonic cleaners off eBay. One is a 2 litre model, the other 20 litres.
These units seem to be failure prone, which is maybe not surprising because they are made of Chinesium.
Within a year, the 20 litre one failed to turn on one day. Emails to the seller were ignored. I took it apart and I was shocked to find that part of the power entry module had melted and the factory had left the ground wire unconnected to the chassis. So basically the metal body could have gone to 120 V at any time. I replaced the power entry module and it is running for now.
A little short of two years, the 2 litre one makes noise but there is no ultrasonic energy making it into the liquid. I took it apart and there is nothing obviously wrong so I think the transducers are done. I guess I could source some transducers and bond them to the bowl, but ain't nobody got time for that.
Just wondering if anyone has found a brand of ultrasonic cleaner that works well, preferably around a $150 price point for the 2 litre unit I am in the market for?
