umarex makarov

We just got one in. It isn't on the website yet but from handling it, it seems pretty good. Its nice having a pretty much all metal gun.

Nice weight, no blowback. Disassembles like the real thing, finish is painted but it looks OK. Accuracy is good and it will shoot quite a few bbs before the CO2 needs replacing. For the "real" thing you should look at a Baikal Makarov, made with real parts used for the Makarov pistol.

I have one and did a review of it that you can find on page 5 titled "Makarov by Umarex" (sorry, can't hotlink on the Blackberry) This is actually one of my favourite air pistols, nice weight and feel, lots of shots per cylinder, reasonably accurate and consistent with quality BBs.

There is also another CO2 Makarov, no longer imported, that could be considered the "real deal", as it shares many STEEL parts (not pot metal like the Umarex) with a real Mak.

You will occasionally see one on the EE.

I ordered one and it arrived yesterday. Its a nice little pistol. Good heft to it and decent trigger in both single and double action. Hits pretty hard and is reasonably accurate too. My only complaint is that it doesnt' shoot to point of aim (and you can't adjust the sights). I think this is due to the sloppy slide fit (barrel is not sitting centered within the slide). Overall, a nice little plinker.
