Umbrella Corporation Grip stippling (pics)

Excellent work. Did you use a basic soldering iron or the proper, lower-gripped woodburning iron?

Just a RadioShack brand soldering iron. Had to wear gloves. The blue plastic on the iron gets really hot. Looks exactly like the wood burner I had as a kid. Except the wood burner was red plastic:

Thanks. I've seen soldering iron shaped wood burners and they have a shorter heating element so your hand is closer to the work for better control. I'll grab my soldering iron and get at it in the next couple weeks.

I think this is my favourite stippling job for an Umbrella Grip

Pulled from the UWRC Facebook.

That is pretty cool... I like the combination of textures.

Yea I've read that lots of ppl had better results with the wood burning kits as their hands are closer to the tip. I found working with a soldering iron (for just soldering), sometimes awkward since your hand is so far away from the tip.

I've started a new stippling project and intent to post as I go. A tango down ar pistol grip. Trying out some sort of fancy tribal design on the back. Not sure what to do on the front . Fine point stipple again. Will post pics soon. Lets keep the stippling goin.
