Good luck! Are tags for those hard to come by? Whats the terrain like where you'll be hunting?

Hey there, no ... no luck for me this time around unfortunately. Here's the scenario ...

Thursday morning travel thru/along the Dyan river, over Dyan Lake, over the land up to Peter Lake, up over the land to Gibson lake ... it was suppose to be sunny and only about -30 ... it was cloudy/foggy and about -50 ... the snow on the lakes was drifted and SOLID like concrete ... beat the snot out of us and our sleds. Found the cabin we know, unloaded our sleds. Friday morning toured north of Gibson lake towards Cross Lake zigzagging on the land looking for Umingmak(muskox) ... and well there was hardly any snow on the land so avoiding TONS of rock, cloud cover again and wicked cold ... man it was ugly to be honest! We found tracks that were 3/4s full of snow and hardpack so you knew they were old, no wolf tracks, no wolverine tracks ... man o'man! Back to cabin, try to warm up, eat and sleep. Friday midnite was my deadline so Saturday packed up ... headed back the same route we took coming up, however zigzagging more to find tuktu(caribou) ... shot 10 of them on our way home ... digi-cam frozen, cell phone camera frozen ... us BEYOND frozen so no pics ... :( Got frostbite on my face and hands ... remember why I hate hunting Dec, Jan and Feb months ... just toooooo damn cold. HAHA! ;)
