Un att

Is it really the end of cheap surplus? I've been busy with work lately and not too sure about what's all going on now. Should I panic and buy more ammo?

What is this UN ATT you are talking about? Is this about the restriction on foreign arms trades? Are they not bringing in surplus items because of it?

It is what OP is talking about. May put an end to cheap surplus.

Lol, surplus hasn't been cheap since the summer. Corrosive x39 ammo is going for the same price as non-corrosive .223

Almost not worth owning a red rifle that shoots x39 anymore. :( lol

There are still plenty of countries that don't care what the UN wants. And thankfully they tend to have 7.62x39 ammo. Countries include Russia China and Iran. I don't know what this will bring but I wouldn't lose hope just yet.

The UN Resolution on the Arms Trade Treaty would envision a voluntary restriction on exporter states to enforce reporting of and restriction on small arms to be exported to third world "unstable" states.

it does not provide for any restrictions for the export of small arms ( including ammunition) into first world states such as Canada.

I'd recommend reading the resolution before reacting to it.

Just bought 62 today for $269, while non-corrosive .223 is $499. There is savings to be had.

Well my prices are based on Canada Ammo pricing. He is selling 1200rnds of x39 for $299. That's .25 a round. He was also selling 1600rnds of .223 for $399, which is .25 a round.

I see Canada Ammo raised their prices on .223, but my preorder for .223 should still hold, so technically it's still the same price. :p

UPDATE: I will not be getting the preorder so right now x39 is cheaper. :)

Yes you are correct, but Canada Ammo has been out of 7.62 for a while now, and that stuff wasn't surplus it was Norinco clean ammo. So you can't really compare with that one exactly. I'm getting my 7.62 at 19 cents a round. Not a huge savings but it's something.

.19 a round? Where do I get some? :D

I can get corrosive stuff locally for $240 per crate, but what happened to the non-corrosive stuff? As if nobody carries it. Any word on that? I was gonna go and get a crate, but they went up 20% since last summer to the point of it not being worth my while to shoot surplus if I can get non-corrosive for $300
