Hi all. Just wondering what it may take to unsporterize a Ross 303 m10. I dont know much about the gun itself but I would love to return it to its military glory. Not suee if this is even worth it or possible but any help would be appreciated.

With respect, how about a few pics and stats like barrel length for openers.
Right now it is "how hard is it to restore my red truck"

Pics and stats like OGC notes will dictate the direction you'll have to go in should you decide to go through with it. There were many models made by Ross so it's anyone's guess as to what you have at the moment.

i restored two of these ,here is the first one

This was befour the stock finish was done ,i will have to get the two of them together for a finish photo_Once its finished it definitly worth it in my opinion.

Last "Original untouched" MkIII I sold, went for $1700 with a perfect bore...

Now they are up to $2500 plus buyers premium, tax and shipping. Plus afew more days to go before the live auction starts. https://www.icollector.com/ROSS-RIFLE-CO-MODEL-1910-CALIBER-303-BR_i34065509

To the original poster. If your rifle has a 30 1/2" barrel MKIII or 28' barrel MKII variants and has the original rear sight, butt plate and front sight mount then a repro stock is the way to go. Full length all original ross's are rare to come up for sale/auction. They do come up now and then but as you can see from icollector, at premium price.

Here's mine, untouched as far as I know. I got it from Mr Wolverine probably 20 years ago and it has been a safe-queen ever since. The bore is immaculate, but the case-hardening on the Bolt-Carrier is somewhat faint. Overall it is a beautiful old rifle.

That is a nice looking Ross. Case coloring is amazing. Wood colour is sweet too. HG for Home Guard and Niagra Falls area.

Previously unknown until now. I suspect that is why it is bringing that price, and the auction hasn't even started yet. Whoever lands that one will be very happy with their purchase.
