Well, it finally arrived! These pictures aren't the best quality since they were taken from my cell phone in the poor lighting of my dining room, but I wanted to document the unboxing from the minute the CanadaPost guy dropped it off.
The Box
This is what it looked like on my kitchen table moments after the CanadaPost guy dropped it off
Open Box
Opening the box we see a plain but functional plastic gun case
Open Case
Inside we find a wealth of goodies. There's the pistol itself, a Girsan Regard MC Compact, an instruction manual, two cleaning brushes and a cleaning rod, oil, and a second magazine (one's in the gun)
Magazine
I'll get a better picture later, but this is one of the magazines. It says on the side "Mec-Gar for Girsan - Made in Italy". It's pinned to 10 rounds, the manual says the default is 15, some online sites say 13 rounds so I'm not sure if these are the same as Mec-Gar's full-sized Beretta Mags.
Pistol Left Side
Pistol Right Side
Box Goodies Laid Out
Slide Locked Back
Slide Assembly Removed
Barrel, Spring and Guide Rod Removed
The guide rod is metal, for those wanting to compare with the Berettas that have switched to plastic a little while ago.
Hand Fit
When I was waiting for this gun to arrive, I was concerned that the Compact might not fit in my hand as well as the full-sized one that I had held before. As it turns out it fits beautifully. It's comfortable and well-sized. I like it. I can't wait to take it to the range and try it out.
If anyone wants pictures of something in particular just let me know. I'll charge up my good camera and grab some better shots than these cell phone camera ones.
I probably won't get out to the range until the weekend after this one because of traveling, but I'll take a crack at writing a "range report" when I do.
Cheers,
Jon
