Been looking at O/U for a while and finaly a deal came up that I had to pull the trigger on. Been looking at EE for a used B gun in 28 inch with interchangeable chokes but nothing was coming up under $1500.

Last week I dropped by my local CTC and they had the Fausti Conrad on clearance for $899.97. ($702.03 off). After looking online for prices, I determined that at $1000 with taxes I would be hard pressed to find a better deal for an O/U.

Here are the picture as I pull it out of the box:

Nice plastic hard case (no lock ring though)

Will be going out soon to give it whirl on the range.

Main use will be once every two months on the range doing skeet or trap and occasional hunt (not likely since I have a old pump for that)

Checked my CTC here in Windsor Ontario they had one at 1799.00. Told them you bought one $899.97 at your local CTC and asked if they would price match...the answer was "only if we see the receipt".
I doubt that they would but it doesn't hurt to try. Any chance that we could make that happen ?

Let us know how it works out for you. I doubt CTC will match the price, but I’d like to be proven wrong

This was stocked by the CTC? They only offer BB-style guns where I live, and probably demand a PAL for a Red Ryder. And for the BBs. And they carry the BBs to the counter for you so you can't BB someone on your way out.

I purchased a Leatherman in a blister pack at CTC once and they guy insisted that he carry it to the till for me.

Anti theft process CTC uses. Friend of mine used to work for CTC in loss prevention and items of mid range value and small tend to be the easiest to steal hence why the process to walk it to the cash.

CTS do operate as independently owned stores and that is evident In respect to the differences each store has for policy on selling firearms. Stores where they have a larger firearm section generally are very good to deal with, offering many higher quality products and occasionally will have excellent deals. But you will never see firearms advertising so it is challenging to learn of these good deals. They do escort you to the till on ammo purchases, but also do the same on electric razors and other things kept in locked displays, no doubt to curtail theft. Where I live the CTS is similar to what you experienced with wholesale sports in respect to firearms. CTS are very welcome as an option to Cabela’s etc. Good luck with the price match.

Pic of receipt sent to Wolf, wishing him the best of luck

Well I hit my local CTC today and the Fausti Conrad O/U was still there. Talked to the kid working there about Price matching even if it was from another CTC. Kid says no problem price matching with any store as long as it is located in Canada. Things are going well at this point. BUT he has to get the manager to give his blessing to the price match. Manager comes over I show her the receipt showing price discount location of store telephone number etc. I could tell by the look on her face that this is where things go south. First she says "That shotgun could not have been discounted by that much" so she calls her boss and the two start whispering..They get on the little monitor that each department has and start putting in numbers..The long and the short of it is that they CANNOT verify the even though it says on the receipt that it is a Fausti Conrad that it was indeed a Fausti Conrad. Besides the item number is different than the item number in Windsor SOOO...no price match. I tried with a few other thoughts of reason but to no avail....in the end it was worth a try.

I'm just getting into trap (went for the first time a week ago) and used my old 12 gauge Cooey-84 to see what its all about. First 25 hit about 50%, 2nd 25 hit about 5% as my shoulder was getting thumped all to hell and in pain. Now I need to get a real yet affordable shotgun. I like what I'm seeing with the Fausti Conrad O/U at the sale price. I'll check out my local CT stores to see if they even have any available and if so hoping I can get a copy of your receipt fljp2002, to try price match here. I suspect I would end up with the same result as wolf but worth a try.

Regardless, looking forward to a performance review of your new gun flip2002.
