That's not wear - it has finish on it, if it was wear it would be shiney, since the finish would have to come off before the steel could be abraded. It's just roughness left by the machining process. Incidentally, this is the difference between a $1k 1911 and a $4k 1911 - on a custom gun, you wouldn't see that but the cost to hand finish every part is very high and it doesn't have a huge effect on functioning in the short term.
