Am I limited on barrel length? Whats a good sniper rifle for under 2000. I know AI is out of my price range.

Try the Savage LE2B [McMillan Stock] it retails around $1100.00. There are a lot threads on this topic do a search using the search feature in precision rifle.

sorry, i cant see that url.

I have shot Old badger's Tikka ( the same model as barnacle has for sale) and i don't think you could get a better deal for a VERY well made and accurate rifle/scope combination.
These rifles are simply awesome, no two ways about it!:D
If i was looking for another precision rifle I would grab that one in a heartbeat....

I know there was a Tikka Master Sport with a Leupold for sale in the for sale forum. I think the seller is barnacle, it looks like a really good deal, and it is a great rifle.

Thanks. But I think I'm going to go with this.

If that price is right or close. I'm getting this one for sure.

Better take a closer look at that web site, it is a gaming site and does not sell firearms:eek: ....I think those prices have something to do with the game:redface: .....better take another look at the Tika...can't beat that price for that rifle. Like Cat I got to try Old Badgers and it is an awsome rifle especially for your under $2000 limit.

Just an opinion

i used a savage 10fp in .308. using the standard (shudder) stock, accutrigger, harris swivel bipod, leupold standard rings and mounts, bushnell 3200 5-15x40 scope with butler creek lense covers for around 1500 shipped. now substitute the scope for the bushnell fixed 10 power mildot, 1913 rail and away you go.

i wish i got the mcmillan stock right off the bat and well i am looking at upgrading the rings and bases for a rail and better rings. i love mine!!

oic, gamers :/. Would I be able to put together a good sniper system using the Accuracy International Chassis system and some other rifles chamber and barrel? I like good looks as well as what it does. :)

The AI stock if I remember right is going to eat up a better part of a grand, add action, barrell fitting trueing and other work my "GUESS" is $3000 and then optics. My suggestion is as before and with others Take a good look at the Savage rifles, or Jump on that Tika if it is still available. Check with Wolverine supplies for the prices on the AI stocks, I think they are still the Canadian distributors. If you want another option to look at get yourself a Rem 700 police. Mount a 20 MOA rail and a Bushnell elite 3200 10x mildot. Then as time and funds allow mount it into a AI stock and have some action work done. The nice thing with the Rem is it is a good platform for custom work.

Just an opinion.

Yeah, I kind of thought the Rem 700 with $1500 worth of chassis and bipod, and say another $500 in scope/base/rings, being sold for $2000, was a good deal too... I'm biased though, as the seller and all. ;)

I just got myself a Rem 700LTR in .308 20"bbl, Bushy 4200 6-24x40, Harris swivel bipod...well under 2k tax in. And it is sweet!:)
