Under $50 CQB rig setup/review

I will be at Borden this coming Saturday (March 19th) if anyone would like to see/try this setup :)

Yup. There is a 75% chance that I will be there in the morning. I've already sent in for my TATT. Now I just have to can some work, and I'll be all set.

Now, how about some directions to the range?

Choosing a setup to use for CQB can be hard. There are so many companies and different products, the choices are mind boggling. Whether you want to go with a simple harness, a vest with internal pouches, or a vest with just molle it's a hard decision, and how do you know its the right one? I'm putting this rig setup and review together for people who are new to CQB and don't know what to buy. The setup is really quite simple, a belt, one pistol mag pouch (included with belt), and a dump pouch (holds 8 AR mags/only need 5). Here are some pictures :D

Nice write up, thanks!

Do you have the mags stacked in the dump pouch in a specific way to load them that quickly?

Also, another vote for slow motion versions of the vids, that was FAST! :D

You can put them in any way you want, I have them feed lips down with the front of the mag facing my back. If you wanted them indexed a certain way without them flying around in the pouch you could just put some foam between them. Stagger 2 towards the back and 2 in the front. It all depends on what works for you :)

Listen Bolivar, your armchair commando skills have gone to hell. Haven't you read the interweb? 1911's are out, HK's are in. Check with any online tactical guru, the 1911 will leave you in last place (or dead, south of the 49th). :D

Adam

Ugh.....(get a 1911 already) :D

That's not directed at you Pobcat. I've been bugging Adam about his pistol for a couple of months now.

I don't even know you guys and the trash talk is cracking me up. :)

You ain't heard nothing yet... at the Service CQB matches, we don't yell at you. Nope....

We SCREAM at you! :stirthepot2: Especially if you drop your pistol or loaded mags during the Advance and Fire stages.

Okay, seriously... we will have a pile of fun. Usually it's at my expense! :nest:

 Barney
