Well goin threw Ontario Out of Doors I came across the ad on the Under Armour boots. I can say they are a good looking boot and tempted to go get a pair as im due for a pair or two of boots. Anyways I was Just wondering if anyone here has got a pair, and what they think of them. If they are good as the clothing I think I may have to go find who had them. Right now im in a toss up between the Irish Setters or Under Armour for boots.

Here is a link on the boots

Nope, the new cabela's catelog has a few different ones, but there's no way i'll pay 300 bucks for a pair of boths that's not yak or roo leather.

I have a set of UnderArmour Cold gear compression long underwear that I really like and a golf shirt that I don't like.

In Cabelas I saw the goofiest looking pair of hunting pants made by UA. They were sort of camo, felt like they were made out of neoprene and of all things for hunting pants they had an internal stretch belt with no beltloops, no place to hang a knife or leatherman.

I wouldn't buy hunting boots from them without some research.

If they are at all comparable to the UA cleats I used during high school football then they are a pretty good boot. My cleats while nothing too special gave me a solid 2 years of hard use before starting to fray at the seams... I definitely wouldn't be paying $200 for them unless there is something amazing about them though.

Like others have suggested do some research on materials used etc..

I had a look at them a week ago. While they look to be relatively well made, if I was planning on dishing out $300 on a pair of boots, I'd go with ones that have a proven track record, like Meindl, rather than buying ones from an underwear company with a cool logo and popular name.

There are so many proven boot manufacturers that there is no reason to take a chance on UA. I've got a Heat Gear shirt from US that looks like sh*te after a few washes. They're a brand name with no experience in the outdoors industry. A few boughten hunting celebs does not good gear make.

One of the most disappointing pair of boots I ever bought came from a
well-known gun company (and yeah, likely made off-shore too ).

Can't see buying boots from an underwear company.

Good boots are made in the USA, Germany, Italy and France.

I agree, when companies move into other areas with nig marketing budgets beware. The best example is Nike and golf, they way overcharge, when big players switch over they almost always drop off. I can't think of a single player who got better(except tiger way back when) after switching to Nike products.

Try looking at Lowa, Meindl, Berghaus, Scarpa, Kayland, and Zamberlan in the same price range. Much higher quality boots. Maybe even some of the Danner line for a few dollars less.

UA makes nice golf shirts, not hunting boots, but they are sucking in the name brand boys that want others to see them wearing an UA logo.

If you plan to wear your boots a lot and not just when hunting, give some thought to whether or not the boots are resole-able. A lot of boots, even expensive ones, are not and once you wear out the sole you will be replacing the boot no matter how well you take care of them.
