I was doing some interwebs poking around last night, got onto the world.guns.ru site and stumbled across this weird round!

There is also a similar cartridge called 5.66X39mm MPS which doubles the maximum range (more or less 10 meters for the 4.5X40R vs about 20 meters for the 5.66X39). Interesting point about this use is that the range is directly proportional to water depth.....
