No real mystery on these. The Spanish rebuilt and modified various rifles over the years, produced some real mongrels including thr fr7/8 by adapting old guns.
Could be? - I found decent documentation about those FR 7's and 8's, but nothing about a Spanish M95 with a thumb cut on receiver or that oblong vent hole. Almost as if a 1916 Short Rifle or other rifle cut down or modified and installed into an 1895 carbine stock?? Even the Guardia conversion that I have here has stampings that confirm it's identity - not so certain that military arsenals scrubbed off old markings, without replacing them - but I do not know that?
