"UNIQUE" 22lr pistol

I have this old gun, It's a "Unique" Mod/D4 22lr, Made in France. It has a 9" barrel with a muzzle brake? I've had the gun a while and don't really know much about them. I can't seem to find much info on them either.

Any info would be interesting.

That is a very nice muzzle brake. I bet that would tame the recoil from a .22 down to a manageable level!
