Back in the good old days of firearm ownership in Canada, it seemed like the importers were being in rifles from all corners of the world.

I recently saw a beautiful, near mint, condition South African marked FN FAL, and it got we wondering: where else did these rifles come from?

You see the Belgium, the Indian, the Israeli, ones, a few British, Canadian, and Australian ones mixed in, but what countries are found here in Canada?

I have a German G-1 and a Portuguese FAL (and of course Brit, Aussie, Israeli, Belgium and Indian). I have seen a Lebanese marked FAL also.

I have an Australian one. - dan

I had an Aussie , but only have my Brit L1A1 now . I had an Ishapore that I bought from Bob Prestash at Trail Firearms ( I'm sure we were both in there at the same time dan ) that surprisingly was one of the most accurate FAL's I've ever owned . It looked like s**t , but would put 5 rounds of decent ammo into about 1.5 inches at 100 .

Am I missing some thing!!!! I thought we can't shoot any 12.5 class firearms. Please advise.Thanks.

You can shoot them because the range owner was Grandfathered and transfered some previously privately-owned Prohib firearms onto his range business license. You will pay a rental fee and ammo at premium store cost for the ever-diminishing opportunity to fire that otherwise prohib rifle one shot at a time with all of the usual "limited fun" rules inherent to a Canadian indoor range. Aside from that, have fun and fill your boots...

I just wish our non-elected bureaucratic overlords would let us mere civilians fire our legally-acquired (and taxes paid!) Firearms which were insanely declared a public menace by the pussified, lunatic bureaucrats actually running this asylum of a country. Just saying..... when did my FNC1A1 or G3A3 or original AR10 ever hurt anyone or any thing besides Lieberal sensibilities? Hello?? Ányone? Yeah, I thought so...

I'd bet we were, I spent lots of time there. Lol. - dan

You can no longer get an authorization to transport for the purpose of shooting. But, if it is stored in a place where it can also be fired, so that no transport is required, there is nothing stopping you from shooting it there.
