Anyone using reduced loads for cast, jacketed and/or monolithic bullets? Recipes?
Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook lists Unique load data. I get ok reduced load results with Herco & 2400 in my .375 H&H Mag with CamPro 250gr full copper plated bullets.
If memory serves; Ross Seyfried's UMAGGB load was 8 grains of Unique and a cast bullet. Which cartridge and bullet weight? Pretty much all of them.
UMAGGB stands for Universal Make Any Gun Go Bang, if you were wondering.
My cast bullet load for the H&H is 20 grains of SR4759 and a gas checked 300 grain Lyman. I had a bit of a theme going on with SR4759 and cast bullets. 12 grains for 30-30 sized cases, 14 for 308s, 16 for 30-06 and 20 or so for magnums. You can play from there looking for best accuracy.
I use 10 grains Unique with a .375 round ball weighing 80 grains for my grouse- rabbit load.
Interesting. I wonder how close your SR4795 and Unique are on the burn rate chart. I shall investigate as there may be a safe approach to a starting load for Unique if they are closely related.
Ever try a jacketed bullet with your reduced load trials?

I have also used the 375 H&H with 300 grain TSX, 300 grain Fed blue box, 350 gr Woodliegh sp. (2 times) for successfully harvesting our Yukon bison.Grouse with the H and H. Classic.![]()
Lo and behold, the Lyman Cast Bullet book has loads with Unique for the 375 H and H, as well as 45-70 and 38-55. Many others as well...
